In the first report, the reaction of chromium under basic slag is represented by the equation 2[Cr]+3(FeO)⇌(Cr_2O_3)+3[Fe]and the temperature coefficient of the equilibrium constant can be expressed by the relation log K^B_Cr=^15, 000/T-10.0 Standing upon this relations, the anther studied the behaviors of chromium under basic slag. As the result, it is quantitatively cleared that the more (FeO) content in slag increases, the (Cr_2O_3) Content in slag decreases, and the reaction temperature is low, the better the removal of chromium from steel bath takes place. Furthermore, the auther studied which furnace (acid or basic) is more efficient to remove chromium from steel bath.
