One of the five objects to smelt steel sctap, the protection of steel bath oxydation is obtained by oring, but it becomes a problem until when the oring should be continued to attain the other four objects. Ror the solution, in this report, the processes of decarbarisation and temperature rising are discussed. As the results, it is made clear that the bath temperature rises with the proceeding of vigorous boiling introduced by the oring, and thus the second object is attained. The oring should be stopped when the temperature readied its necessary height, otherwise the bath would be oxydised. At this point, decarbarisation velocity should be maximum, but as the oxydisability of slag would also be maximum, the other three objects could not be attained at the same time, even if contents of C, Si, Mn are suitable.
