The effect of MAKITSUKE nozzle grinding fluid supply was disscussed. In the experiments, emulsion grinding fluid supply with MAKITSUKE nozzle was effective for grinding ratio, tangential grinding force and surface roughness. On soluble grinding fluid supply, the thermal shock to the grain on the grinding point became a problem for the grinding ability. In the results of the crash test for grains, crash forces were reduced with thermal shock times for grains. The treatments for the grains were changed for crash forces. Heat treatment on the grinding wheel burning condition for the grain had the crash force increased. The crash force for the vitrified bond coated grain was less that the non-treatment grain crash force on the thermal shocks. In the application of MAKITSUKE nozzle, a three faces MAKITSUKE nozzle which can supply grinding fluid to both peripheral surfacean d double side surfaces of grinding wheel was developed. The emulsion grinding fluid supply with a three faces MAKITSUKE nozzle was of great advantage to grinding wheel edge wear.
