We re-examine the consistency of the supersymmetry algebra in the soliton sector for 1+1 dimensional models. We show that owing to a boundary effect the supercharges are not conserved. Consequently the soliton mass receives an extra quantum correction and the Bogomolny bound is not saturated at the quantum level.
