A systematic approximation method which is based on the eikonal picture, is presented for potential scattering. It is shown that the higher order corrections to the well-known Glauber amplitude can be expressed in a transparent from by introducing a multiplying function for the potential, and that several results obtained by Baker in his second order eikonal approximation is easily obtained.
