The Bjorken limit of Bincer's form factor is investigated and applied to the exploration of the value of the wave function renormalization constant, Z_2, of the proton. It is shown that the Bjorken limit of Bincer's form factor takes quite a simple form if Z_2 is non-vanishing. Through the analysis on the consistency of non-vanishing Z_ with Bjorken's scaling hypothesis on electromagnetic structure functions, the following is concluded:Z_2 should vanish if the Bjorken limit of υW_2(υ,q^2),J_2(ω), is smooth around ω=1 and the product J_2(ω)σ_L/σ_T appropriately vanishes at ω=∞.
