While the minimal supersymmetric (SUSY) SU(5) grand unified theory (GUT) has been exhaustively studied, the minimal SUSY SO(10) GUT has not been well known. When we supersymmetrise the minimal non-SUSY SO(10) models, we can obtain only one minimal SUSY SO(10) model. (If we allow one term of Planck-scale origin, we can have one more model.) The minimal SUSY SO(10) GUT allows only single-step gauge symmetry breaking, preserves R-parity automatically, and can accommodate realistic quark and charged lepton masses. Furthermore, it can predict neutrino masses and mixings, which can be tested in proposed accelerator experiments. The theory arises naturally as the best candidate for physics beyond the standard model of the electroweak and strong interactions that can accommodate non-zero neutrino mass and supersymmetry.
