The Einstein-Cartan theory of gravitation is discussed in a Hamiltonian form. To find the simplest Hamiltonian formalism for this theory, we choose one leg of the vierbein field to be normal to the hypersurface χ^0=const. The Hamiltonian and the constraints are worked out for this scheme. It is shown that if torsion is taken to be zero, our theory reduces to the Hamiltonian of the gravitational field interacting with a spinor field.
