The Mattis model is extended to the site-random n-vector model with short-range interaction. Aharony and Imry's conjecture that a uniform external field will destroy Mattis spin glass order is verified for n→∞(2<d<4) without use of the replica method. The Mattis model under a uniform field is shown to be slightly different from the system with Gaussian random fields together with an ordering field.
