Hot Neutron Stars at Birth and Related Problems

On the basis of a realistic supermona equation of state which has been obtained by soving a set of finite-temparature Hartree-Fock equations with effective nucleon interaction, hot neutron stars at birth are constructed. They are compared with the usual cold neutron stars with regard to composition, equation of state and profile, and are discussed that new constraints are imposed on the critical mass and the maximum rotation rate of cold neutron stars by consideration of their hot stage. A comment is given concerning the effect of pion condensation on this critical mass problem.
