In higher than 3-dimensional spaces, projecting a periodic solution into 3-dimensional subspaces, we define quantities which are natural extension of topological quantities in 3-dimensional systems. We confirm the rule in the change of these quantities under the generic bifurcation and find the absence of the rewinding rule in period doubling cascades in general-dimensional dynamical systems.
