The shrinkage of the diffraction peak in high energy elastic scattering is treated by assuming the "additivity assumption". It is shown that the different behaviour of the shrinkage for various processes could be understood if we assume that the scattering amplitude for the quark and its antiquark is different from that for the quark and quark. Also other processes such as charge exchange processes, backward scattering or quasi-two-body processes are treated qualitatively.
