The mass levels of higher meson resonances are investigated by assigning them to the 189-dimensional representation of SU(6). The mass formula with symmetry breaking terms M8 35, M1 189 and M1 405 shows satisfactory agreement with the experimental mass values so far reported; The mass formula for the 405 representation of SU(6) is also calculated.
