p-p Scattering at 970 MeV

The results of a phase shift analysis of p-p scattering data at 970 MeV are reported. Although the data do not determine a unique set of phase shifts, the plausible requirement that the real phase shifts be of the Stapp No. 1 type leads to the following solutions : [graph] where nuclear-bar phase shifts are used ; r are the reflection parameters. It is shown that measurements of several triple scattering parameters can discriminate between these two solution types.
