A two-channel formalism is applied to the problems concerning the S-wave K^^-N reactions in the I=0 state. The _<π>Σ channel coupled with the S-wave K^^-N channel is assumed to be either in S_<1/2>-state or in P_<1/2>-state. In the present analysis _<π>Σscattering below K^^-N threshold is particularly investigated with an attention to the Y_0 recently observed (1405 Mev, I=0). If Y_0 has such spin and parity as to couple to the S-wave K^^-N channel, then Humphrey and Ross's first solution for the K^^-N scattering length is excluded because of a too large imaginary part, while the second solution seems not inconsistent, though a smaller imaginary part may be favoured. The mechanism of such Y_0 is discussed to give a conclusion that it is an inelastic resonance, an example of which is the so-called bound state resonance.
