The modified effective range formulas for S- and P-wave pion-pion scattering which contain the effect of nucleon closed loops are derived by using the chain approximation. These are extensions along the line of Chew and Mandelstam, Okubo and Miyamoto. We predict the resonance of total energy ~700 Mev with rather a broad width Γ/2~400 Mev for the I=l=1 state and the resonance of total energy ~300 Mev with small width Γ/2~20 Mev for the I=l=0 state, which are consistent with experimental ones corresponding to ρ- and ω^0-mesons, respectively.
