The aim of the present paper is to propose a new type of Monte-Carlo method which enables us to study the excited state of many-body systems. It consists of the method of continued fractions (MCF) and a Monte-Carlo random walk for multi-dimensional integration. The convergence of the MCF and its accuracy are studied in detail for a one-dimensional model. As an application of this method to a realistic problem, we study the ground state of He^4 by using the Volkov potential. It is shown that our results are in good agreement with those of previous works obtained through different types of formalism. This implies that our new method works effectively in the study of many-body nuclear systems.
