The multiple meson production in the antinucleon-nucleon annihilation is studied. Assuming that the whole system establishes a statistical equilibrium, we adopt the temperature of the system as the only parameter, and deciding the critical temperature in the similar way as Landau's, we obtain the numerical values which agree with experimental data and clear up the question why one must take a large magnitude of the interaction volume as a parameter in the Fermi statistical model.
