The inelastic magnetic scattering of neutron from a Heisenberg spin system is discussed with the use of the canonical correlation function. The second and fourth moments of the canonical correlation function are calculated in the paramagnetic range including the critical region of phase transition. Using these moments, and adopting a Gaussian torque assumption, the temperature and wavelength dependence of the width and the shape of the spectrum are derived. The results explain various aspects of the recent experiments on RbMnF_3 qualitatively and semi-quantitatively. Among others the criterion is discussed for a quasicollective mode to appear in the paramagnetic range with reference to Bennett's work.
