Double proper-time formulation of the dual-resonance model is presented. The off-shell functional, which is defined for the boundary of domains in the proper-time plane, is intro-duced in accordance with the path integral method of nonrelativistic quantum mechanics. Minkowskian and Euclidean cases are discussed separately. The interaction scheme with ex-ternal sources is constructed. This determines the rule of how energy-momentum is trans-ferred by dual-resonance whose propagation amplitude is given by the off-shell functional. It is found that the Euclidean case is more convenient for duality theory.
