The ππ→πA_1 reaction is studied on the basis of a Veneziano model and a local chiral SU(2)×SU(2) algebra of currents. A Veneziano-type scattering amplitude for this reaction is constructed so as to satisfy Adler's selfconsistency condition and Ward-like identity. Relations among various coupling constants are derived. The electromagnetic form factor of the pion is evaluated by applying a soft pion technique to the scattering amplitude. The rms radius of the pion is calculated to be √<<r^2>>=0.68fm. The A_1→ρπ decay width is also calculated and is compared with recent experimental data.
