Carrier-Assisted Perpendicular Pumping of Spin Waves in Ferromagnetic Semiconductors

The carrier contribution to the generation of spin waves in ferromagnetic semiconductors under perpendicular pumping conditions is discussed. It is shown that for degenerate semiconduct this electronic contribution predicts a threshold pumping power of the same order of magnitude as the one involved in the direct mechanism of spin waves excitation. Also the carrier assisted mechanism excites spin waves with k in a broad range of values in contrast with the direct mechanism.
