• This paper discribes an approximate calculation method of interreflections in rooms with both diffuse and specular surfaces. The approximation is based on the assumption that surfaces with both diffues and specular reflections can be treated solely as uniform diffusers for all interreflections.For evaluation, luminous exitance is calculated by means of a digital computer for luminous panels of different sizes and rooms of different geometries.The results show that approximation errors are less than one percent.
