Unlike the psycho-therapy for the pure psychosomatic disease, it is quite difficult to give the spiritual instruction for physically severe patient as the cancerous patient at the close. The attending physician for the somatic disease must take the spiritual instruction by himself which may result in unexpected rally of the disease. Here, we can see a great clinical significance of psychosomatic medicine. I have been studying on psycho-therapy for the very severe tubercular patient with other co-researchers. This time, we especially studied on the verbal communication. 1. We established a situation for study. 2. We studied how we replied as the attending physicians when the severest patient asked as follows. 3. The patient asked, "am I dying, doctor?". 4. We made tubercular patients describe the words of the answer for the above mentioned question provided that they answered as if they were the attending physician. 5. As the result, there were many patients who answered more proper and forceful words than healthy physicians would do. 6. Generally speaking, in the above mentioned situation, it was remarkable that the patient strongly desired encouragement and support of the attending physician. 7. Next, the patient wanted that the physician should talk about his view of life concerning death. 8. Through the processes of examination, we finally abstracted 6 answered samples out of all cases. 9. We presented 6 answered samples to 109 severe patients, and made them choose the ones ample that they thought most suitable to them. 10. They had variable choice by distinction of sex, age and severity of disease. 11. The most highly rated chosen by the patinents showed that they placed their hope on not only the medical therapy but also the power of life that they themselves have. 12. We investigated the reason why the patient chose his favourite sample, and we found that it was various. 13. The reasons were very common, but we usually made extremely light of them. 14. The most remarkable reason was as follows : geniality, kindness of the doctor, sympathy for the patients, force as not only a clinician but also a human being. 15. As the result, we found that they wanted doctor a humanity which was backing of the spiritual instruction in verbal communication.
