The probit estimation method pf parameters of tolerance distribution proposed by WADLEY (1949) and generalized later by FINNEY (1949) would be widely applicable for analysing the experimental data of quantal characteristic response test in which the count of the initial number of test organisms is missing. Their description of statistical analysis, however, referred to the case where the number in the standard size of sample used in the tests was a sample from a Poisson-distributed population of mean N. It is not unusual that susceptibilities to a chemical of two samples from Possion-distributed populations of means N_1 and N_2 have to be compared each other. For calculating the relative susceptibilities of testing organisms coming from different sources as mentioned above, some formulae discribed by WADLEY and FINNEY were modified in this paper. As a numerical example, the procedure was illustrated by the experimental data comparing the rates of emergence of offsprings of Drosophila melanogaster MEIGEN given hampa with saccharose and these given hempa with dried milk. The result of statistical analysis showed that Drosophila flies give nthe former poison bait was 1.545 times as susceptible as that given the latter poison bait and the fiducial limits of this estimate were 1.109 and 2.152.
