• Facing the aged society, recently in Japan, many attempts have been made to promote learning activities of older people. However, some people say that such conscious attempts may exclude older people. As a preparation to examine such messages, I would like to clarify the development of the idea "Education for Older Learners" separated from "Education for Adults", in the field of Social Welfare and Social Education, around the 1960's.
