• This paper aims at analyzing the relation between economic development and Senior High School Education in China. Based on cross-sectional data, I analyzed the relation from three aspects : the correlation between enrollment rates with the level of economic development, the correlation between changes in enrollment rates and GDP, and the relation between enrollment patterns and the patterns of development. These analyses showed that the patterns of the development have close relations with the growth of Senior High School Education. While provinces with State-Owned industries tend to have greater enrollment of general high schools. Development by growing Collective Owned industries appear to induce greater participation vocational high schools.
