Teachers receive a great deal of information from students and often write articles on the basis of that information. One of the duties of teachers, however, is to protect the privacy of students. If they do not, the relationship of trust between students and teachers will be lost. In the case of instructors teaching foreign students, it is additionally necessary for them to have an understanding of privacy rights in other countries. Japanese language teachers must heighten their own consciousness of privacy issues as well as make an effort to learn more about concents of nrivacv held bv neonle of various nations.
