The influence of Castilian on Galician is exerted above all in the lexicon. Castilianisms, which recently introduced, may coexist with Galician words. Most of the vocabulary related to the ecclesiastical, legal areas was already castilinized, and later a new wealth of ecclesiastical, legal areas was introduced, relating to education, the science, trade, industry, technology, and the mass-media. There is a tendency amongst young people to use exclusively the Castilian words. The degree of castilianism gives the following results : [table]
