The writer has done 33 sessions from March, 2002 to February, 2003. There were 12 clients, but 5 to 8 of them participated in each session. It's more effective to do the therapy to a small group of clients rather than a large one, because the therapist can observe each client more closely. But it was difficult for me to make a plan for this group, because the members of this home have various problems, such as arterios-clerotic dementia, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease and brain hemorrhage. The writer finally decided the basic program of the session after much trial and error. Each session is based on the following activities. 1) Physical exercises 2) Muscle training at the mouth 3) Songs for the realized orientation and the reminiscence 4) Hand movements for the rehabilitation and games for the verbal training 5) Exercises for hands using various instruments 6) Requested songs to gain their satisfaction and relaxation They enjoyed these works and became livelier than before. And one of them started a keyboard lesson to activate her hands. If these works were difficult for some client, the staffs of the home helped them. It's not too much to say that all activities practiced in successful with their assistance. Through the sessions of the year, the writer believes that the most important thing for the music therapist is to understand clients and keep good relationships with them. And it's very useful to get some assistance by the care-workers. As a result, these activities were useful for the development of the quality of client's Me. They could gain the feeling of satisfaction, and got the good relationships with others.
