A new concept for the formation and transition of the organizational characteristics of Japanese-style management is proposed, and demonstrated, from the standpoint of meritocracy. The following items, which have direct concern with the thesis, are also discussed:(l)A partial revision of the theory,which looks at the characteristics of Japanese meritocracy as a multi-step personal selection and promotion; (2) Identification of the differences between Japanese and American meritocracy and the pyramid formation among each corporate organization; (3) Investigation of the causes why Japanese-style management only exists in large scale corporations; (4) Reasons for the difference between meritocracies of white-coloured and blue-coloured groups; and (5) The reason why special Japanese meritocracy has succeeded, and so on.
