• The present paper deals with the strategies of English communication; how to make a good English conversation. Those who are involved in an English conversation should understand the system of conversation; what the speaker should do, what the message must be and what the listener should do. Thus the conversation should be done so that the speaker's intention is understood accurately and properly, neither overly nor diminishedly, by the listener. To realize the purpose, (1) the speaker should consider the listener's situation, environment, intention, aim and understanding ability in advance of speaking and speak appropriately according to the characters of the listener. (2) the listener should also consider the speaker's situation, environment, intention, speaking aim and ability, and understand the received speech accurately and properly according to the characters of the speaker. (3) the speaker should make the message appropriately in the frame of the listener's sense of the sentence structure, vocabulary, grammar, length, arrangement, order, and send them in the proper way of the listener's ability, speed and breath timing of the pronunciation in order that the message is understood correctly and accurately by the listener. (4) the listener should complete and modify the listened speech on the knowledge of the speaker's situation, environment, attitude, speaking ability in order that the speaker's intention is understood accurately and properly by the listener.
