• Speech synthesis of Japanese languages with consonant /k/is the main purpose of this paper. Consonant /k/is generated at velum in vocal tract and classified into stop plosive. On the basis of experimentally obtained spectra, consonant part is synthesized by filtering white Gaussian noise. Synthetic speech, which consists of synthesized consonant and ensuing human vowel, is evaluated by human auditory sense. Performance of them is considered in the stage of practical application.
