Decomposition of rational functions into partial fractions is a classic subject of algebra and integral calculus. It is taught at Takuma National College of Technology (NCT) in the first grade and applied, almost once and for all, in the second grade integration course. Though students somehow manage to derive expansion coefficients with the form of the decomposition given, we not rarely are dismayed by their answer sheets that manifest our failures in teaching. It might well be questioned that not a few kinds of important nutriment have been skimmed off NCT mathematical courses too far, even for some significant arithmetic structures to be conveyed to students. At the least, higher grade students should experience powerful applications of complex analysis on the subject in this regard. This review is an effort to resolve the problem. We present below a system of short but self-contained expositions which will, hopefully, be digested with ease by students at respective grades and lead them to clearer mathematical perspectives.
