Letter fall and soil properties were investigated in the four artificial stands of Larix leptolepis, Abies veichii, Chamaecyparis obtusa and Betula ermanii in Sugadaira, Central Japan. Annual solar radiation on the ground surface of these stands was 2.2% in Chamaecyparis obtusa, 2.3% in Abies veichii, 18.3% in Larix leptolepis, and 35.4% in Betula ermanii to total solar radiation. Mean annual soil temperature was higher in decidious forests than that of evergreen conifer forests. The soil organic matter of A0 layer were 49.5t・ha-1 in Chamaecyparis obtusa, 62.6t・ha-1 in Abies veichii, 57.0t・ha-1 in Betula ermanii and 93.3t・ha-1 in Larix leptolepis. The carbon and mitrogen contents of A horizon(0-5cm) were 14.66% and 0.76% in Chamaecyparis obtusa, 10.74% and 0.51% in Abies veichii, 13.85% and 0.74% in Betula ermanii, 15.85% and 0.88% in Larix leptolepis. The litter fall per year of these stands was 4.9t・ha-1 in Abies veichii, 6.2t・ha-1 Chamaecyparis obtusa, 7.2t・ha-1 in Larix leptolepis and 7.4t・ha-1 in Betula ermanii. The weight of dead branches, which share a large parts of litter varied from stand to stand, though the weight of leaf litter was rather constant among the stands. The soil respiration per year of these stands was 27.9t・ha-1 in Chamaecyparis obtusa, 37.3t・ha-a in Abies veichii, 33.8t・ha-1 in Larix leptolepis and 49.1t・ha-1 in betula ermanii.チャタテムシ目(噛曲目PSOCOPTBRA)は, ハジラミ目(食毛目MALLOPHAGA),シテミ目(風日ANOPLURA),カメムシ目(版翅目HEMIPTERA), アザミウマ目(総翅目THYSANOPTERA)とともに,系統的に準新翅群PARANEOPTERAを構成し,その中で最も原的な形態をもつ分類群であり,昆虫の進化を考える上での一つの鍵を握る群であるといえる。・・・
