When we concern about the administration of curriculum, it is useful if we compare with that of France. There are many devices for maintaining uniformity and diversity in textbooks. There is a course of study (Programmes), but no textbook authorization in France. A course of study has a great influence on the contents of textbooks instead. And by analyzing the contents of textbooks on civics for junior high schools (colleges), we can get some ideas about the facts concerning contents of textbooks. The contents of textbooks are organized in children-centered way, and emphasize the importance of obligations, national symbols, obedience to laws, and so on. In this paper, findings are organized and presented under the following titles; I The Educational Administration on Curriculum in France II The Textbook system in France III The Contents of Textbooks of Civics for Junior High Schools (Colleges) IV The Problems of Foreigners and Sex Discrimination in Textbooks V Conclusion
