The purpose of this paper is to discuss advantages of individualized learning in CALL and suggests how CALL should be carefully evaluated in order to promote effective language learning. When evaluating the program, the language instructors need to follow guidelines for the program to achieve its aims. First, this paper discusses the evaluation of Aomori Public College's CALL program with suggested guidelines. Then the author discusses the evaluation of the program from students' point of view and supports the idea that it is important for CALL to be incorporated into the regular English language program.
