A vibration-damping steel sheet which has a sandwich stracture of two steel sheets with electricall nonconductive resin sandwiched in between has difficult to make a satisfactory joint of two sandwich sheet on the occasion of spot welding. In this paper, the test was made in which a bypass was provided between two electrodes holding two sandwich steel sheets and welding current was applied once and twice under varied conditions. After the test, the welded sheets were examined for micro-Vikers hardness, fault, and fatigue strength. It was found that a satisfactory weld can be made in both one-time and two-time current application. One-time current application required a larger welding current than two-time current application and was affected by weld time. The two-time current application was found to be affected by electrode force. Fatigue strength was higher in the sheet welded by one-time current application than in the one welded by two-time current applications.
