A development of a heat isolation system of tanks for LOX/LH2 rockets and its evaluation test are presented. A heat isolation system mainly made of polyurethane foam, glass cloth for reinforcement and humidity-resistant surface, is developed and applied to a run-tank. An evaluation test is carried out with LN2 and the mean value of heat conductivity over the all isolated surface at the temperature of LN2 is found to be 0.012 kcal/mhK. After the evaluation test, the run-tank is used for eight ground firing tests of rockets without any trouble related to the heat isolation system.
