Outdoor room-is an approach, generally viewed as a means in understanding the elusive field of-Landscape Architecture thru architecture and its process. It can be viewed as a process which systematically analyzes architectural interior space in terms of theoretical design, as a tool for beginning architecture students in comprehending theory, form, and meaning of landscape architecture and its design of exterior spaces. This paper presents an example of how Japanese architec-ture students were involved in a project implementing the outdoor room approach. This paper concludes with student projects, their results and prospects of integrating the outdoor room approach into Japan's architecture schools as a means to educate future architects who will inevitabally be given full rein over Japan's future planning and design of vital and limited outdoor spaces.
