This paper examines the process of introducing vocational education into public secondary school in the U. S.. This process started at the beginning of twentieth centry. Each of manufacturers, organized labor and educators had demand for vocational education with their own ideas. And administrators supported these demands. As a result of this, three types of public vocational school, public trade school, intermediate industrial school and vocational high school appeared.
