The purpose of this study was to make clear the point under discussion of "Sports-Hater" at physical education times between primary school and university, specially to research into the rate of "Sports-Hater", the reason for its coming about, and his or her psychological traits, and the relationships between the motor ability, personality, health need, communication with teacher, and so on. The results were summarized as follow: 1. The rate of "Sports-Hater" (Con-group) in Japan is assumed to be about 2-10 %. Such a tendency was more pronounced in female than in male in degree. The difference between sexes seems to be most conspicuous before and after high grades of primary school. 2. The order of interest in physical education was first and foremost at primary school times. But it relatively changes to other branches of knowledge during the period from primary school to high school. Individual children showed only the smallest difference of interest among all the school branches. It has to be noted, hower, that there was almost nobody in Con-group who showed any interest in physical education activities. 3. The rate of consistent "Sports-Lover" (Pro-group) from primary school to university was about 57% in male and 32% in female. Generally speaking, female of "Changing-type" was in a greater degree, but Con-group of female "Consistent-type" was about 41% and 18% in male, to our surprise. 4. As a result, as to the contribution of Factor Analysis by Varimax Method research for reasons for producing "Sports-Hater", there are five factors, (1) the factor of physical and physiological aspects, 41%, (2) the factor of practical guiding, 28%, (3) the factor of attitude and character, 16%, (4) the factor of conditions in the family and environment, 8%, (5) the factor of sports fitness, 7%, in male; respectively 6%, 50%, 14%, 10%, and 20%, in female. Significant differences of psychological traits between sexes were observed in the factors (1), (2) and (5). 5. The motor ability of Con-group is almost the same as Neutral-group, but the above two groups are not as good as Pro-group about every motor ability test item. The most conspicurs difference between Con-group and Pro-group was observed in 50 meter dash representing motor coordination. 6. By our Yatabe-Guilford Personality Test, it may be said that Con-group is more introversive than Neutral-group and Pro-group in high school and university students, and also more are Calm-type (39%), and Eccentric-type (34%), and in the middle and high grades of primary school children, Average-type (35%), Eccentric-type (26%), and Calm-type (20%) occupy the high rate. 7. By the Cornnel Medical Index (Kyushu University style), Con-group has compliaints about physical and mental aspects, and is more neurotic, about 30%, as it is made clear by data of Fukuoka Women's University students in 10 years 1969-1978. 8. As to the communication between Con-group and physical education teacher, they were detached, physically, psychologically and socially. As mentioned above, it may be epitomiged that "Sports-Hater", who was a failure in attempting adjustment for sports, is far from simple and quite natural after the processes of cause and effect, and has a secondary problem that is away from the cause, and it seems to go on endlessly. Therefore, this study was made as a suggestion that we must take an interest in giving "Snorts-Hater" some help through physical education guibance.
