The strategies employed by successful second language writers are of great interest to both educators and writers, Many less proficient writers blame their lack of success in publishing L2 work on their low language proficiency. This case study investigates the writing habits of a less proficient L2 speaker [L1 is Japanese] who has had high success in L2 publishing. The goal of this qualitative research was to uncover the winning strategies that allow such success. Through extensive reading of other scientists' published research articles [RA], focusing on the publishers' preferred styles and expectations and doing research on current topics, the participant has come up with prize winning strategies that have led to success both nationally and internationally.
