The problem of simultaneous and successive learning (Grice's experiment, 1949) is not appropriate for testing whether the discrimination is based on absolute or relative properties of stimuli, since both types of learning are dependent on their different factors. 2. Simultaneous and successive learning in a different form from the first (studied by Bittcrman) is also based on their different factors. (It was mentioned as one of these factors that for learning in a successive situation the discrimination of the directions right and left is necessary, while it is not necessary for a simultaneous situation.) 3. I think the method of transfer from simultaneous to successive, or vice versa, etc., is more effective for research in this field.
