A questionnaire survey was performed in February 2001 in order to identify which prevent college students' actual health-oriented activities. A total of 298 female nursing school students participated in this research, and they were 23 years old an average. The questionnaire consisted of several open-ended questions asking the respondents what they believed prevented their own and other students' health-oriented activities. According to the results, 48 percent of the respondents believed that other students than themselves seemed too busy to de such activities; and approximately 20 percent of them pointed out such students' lack of the following three as obstacles to health-oriented activities; health-consciousness, motivations for health-oriented activities, and preferences for exercise. On the other hand, the analysis uncovered three major obstacles to the respondents' own health-oriented activities, which were similar to those for other students than themselves : A quarter of them mentioned that they were too busy to do such activities; and approximately 10 percent of them were aware of their own lack of both motivations for the statistical analysis did not show significant differences among the index of the respondents' actual health-oriented activities in practice, their interest in health, and what they recognized as obstacles to their health-oriented activities.
