After the end of the Cold War, the global structure has been fundamentally changing. The market economy has been diffused in the world. The mutual relationships of each nations have been deeper. On the other hand, nationalism rises high and the ethnic or religious conflicts break out in various parts of the world. The number of refugees has greatly increased. In 2001 Islamic fundamentalism terrorists' attack in U.S.A. gave a shock throughout the world. Now we are in the transition period from the old order of 20^<th> century to the new order of 21^<st> century. What are the main global issues in the 21^<st> century? The clash of civilizations? Is the U.S. foreign policy unilateralism? Which way should Japan follow in the world? The object of this educational paper is to bring up these questions.
