The parametric evaluation of thermoelectric generating system for utilizing to a processing plant of combustible solid waste from domestic affairs is presented in this paper. In Japan sold waste discharged per citizen is about 1kg a day. Total amount of solid waste is about 50 million tons per year and is evaluated to be 2.55xl014 kJ annually, which is equivalent to 6.1 million kl of oil approximately. Recently Japanese government strongly recommends and financially assists utilization of unused energy discharged in a processing plant of combustible solid waste for electricity generation. Concerning to the government estimation total capacity of solid waste generation would be increased up to 2 million kW in 2000. Processing operation is not continuous but intermittent in a small class processing plant. In such a case thermoelectric generator is much easier to be installed than traditional steam turbine cycle because thermoelectric generator is flexible to fluctuation of temperature of heat source.
