The purpose of this study is to investigate negative things that junior college students recalled about their teachers from previous years of education. A total of 118 junior college students were asked to write down negative things they remembered about their teachers in preschool (kindergartners & nursery school), elementary school, junior high school, and high school. Participants remembered more negative things about high-school teachers than they did about elementary school and junior high school teachers. They also recalled fewer negative things about preschool teachers than they did about teachers from later years of education. The kind of negative things that the junior college students remembered about their past teachers varied depending on when they were taught by the teachers. The most common type of negative things that participants remembered were scoldings and punishments (corporal punishment, etc.).
