To make clear the effect of the chain length and benzene ring on the miscibility in aqueous solution of two-component mixed surfactants, the surface tension of the aqueous solution of dodecylbenzenesulfonic acid sodium salt and alkylsulfonic acid sodium salt mixture was measured as a function of the total molality and composition of the surfactants. The amounts of adsorption at the air/water interface and the compositions in the mixed adsorbed film and micelle were caluculated by use of the thermodynamic equations. It was concluded that the composition in the mixed adsorbed film and micelle were strongly affected by the difference in the surface tension-concentration curve between two components.
