This study is about environment behavior of old people with dementia. The methodology of this study is to interview old people and make observations of their dwellings. One of the important view points of environment behavior research is to make clear and describe relationships between man and their structural/social environment. Using this methodology, we can get nearer the true daily life of objects, and therefore the result will give us good suggestions to improve their quality of life (QOL). By this study in author got two important results about environment design of old people with dementia. (1) Although he/she is on serious stage of the illness, sometimes he/she can carry out their task of daily life. Usually we can see the existence of 'processes' of behavior in their daily life. Usually in a institution, it is hard to see such processes because of service by the staffs in institution. (2) Suggestion of a new view point, 'ability of environment behavior', which is of similar importance to ADL, IADL etc. as a concept.
